1) Create Energy Account
Consider your energy as a savings account. The amount of energy in your Energy account can be increased or decreased by your thoughts, activities, actions, and interactions.
The balance is lowered when energy is withdrawn; the balance is raised when energy is deposited. Minimize withdrawals and increase deposits to maintain your energy account high (which is what you want).
My question is..
It sounds straightforward, but how do you go about doing it?
How Do You Keep the Balance High?
Here are two keys to increasing the balance in your energy account.
Firstly, Drop the drains.
All day long, we use energy. That is the purpose of energy. However, some things consume an excessive amount of our life force Energy.
Your job, particular family members, technology, time pressures, negative self-talk, negativity in others, or global crisis particularly the Russia Ukraine War could all exhaust you. Not to mention electricity problem.
You are the only one who knows what drains you. Someone else may find a job, a person, or a task exhausting that you find draining.
Reduce the amount of time you spend doing things that drain your energy. Although this may seem self-evident, it has proven to be a game-changer for several of my clients. They hadn't considered stopping or doing less of what was draining them. They had a lot more energy needed for power, which was a pleasant surprise.
Secondly, Do what lights you up.
What energizes and enlivens you, what you love, what you're enthusiastic about, is what lights you up. Your "lights" are, by definition, deposits into your energy account. You'll have more energy if you do more of what makes you happy.
Lights, like energy drains, are unique to each person. What energizes you may deplete someone else, and vice versa.
People are enthralled by a variety of activities, including a walk on the beach, a visit to an art gallery, playing with a pet, listening to music, and conversing with friends. The list could go on indefinitely.
The goal is to figure out what makes you happy and what makes you sad. Then prioritize the former and minimize the latter.
An Example
I've been working on a project for the past month or two that has taken longer than I anticipated or "should."
I started putting pressure on myself to finish the damn thing. I began to work more and play less. This stole a lot of energy from my account and didn't restore it, so the balance continued dropping and I was becoming worse.
My vitality was depleted by the time I comprehended what was going on. This "low balance alert" warned me that I needed to stop wasting energy and accomplish more of what makes me happy before my energy account reached NSF (non-sufficient funds).
For me that implied permitting myself to moderate down, working less on the venture, and taking at slightest two hours each day to do something that lit me up.
